Events and Activities

South Park Neighborhood National Register District Nomination:  The Winchester HPC is currently assessing the historic South Park neighborhood for its potential to become a national register district. The area contains about 250 buildings and is located roughly between South Highland, Elizabeth, and French Streets. With listing in the National Register, residents and business owners in the neighborhood could become eligible for federal and state-level tax credits if they choose to invest in rehabilitating their buildings.

The project is directed by the Historic Preservation Commission with the help of Preservation Services and Technology Group, consultants who specialize in preservation planning, building assessments, and preservation consulting.
